Rachel Fearnley is the founder and co-owner of The Pineapple House, Bali has been teaching yoga internationally for 8 years, having studied a range of styles from Hatha and Vinyasa through to Yin, Restorative, Meditation and Breath work, working 1:1 with students Rachel’s focus from a physical perspective is on alignment within the practice of yoga to promote health and healing. So often we find ourselves in large classes without any focused attention often putting our bodies in positions that are not conducive to our physical or emotional well-being.
Lucy Foster-Perkins, co-owner of The Pineapple House, quit her professional dance career to become a yoga teacher and to travel the world teaching and surfing. She soon discovered Yin Yoga and meditation, which gave her the wisdom to discover the subtler aspects of yoga. Lucy's focus is to help her students find a yoga practice that will serve them on a deeper level and guide them through self discovery and awareness.
Whether you are a seasoned yogi or getting started on your yoga journey, perhaps there are certain poses which have eluded you in your practice or maybe you want to dive deeper into the alignment principles of the asanas. Rachel and Lucy's wisdom and knowledge will assist you to align better and move in a way which suits the needs of your body.
Rachel and Lucy's passion also lies in the teachings of the subtler forms in our yoga practice, including yin, restorative, breath work and meditation, infusing concepts from Ayurveda (the traditional Indian healing system) and Traditional Chinese Medicine and the 5 element theory. These often overlooked aspects of yoga are integral to our overall physical, mental and spiritual health. Whether you have issues with digestion to sleeping, autoimmune disease to joint health, introducing these subtler forms into your life will help you on your journey to optimum health.
